Enjoyed working on this. :)

When i heard the WIP I knew there was a lot of good things in there that I loved and thought it would be a fun project. I tried to keep it as true to the original as possible with the entire structure of the track, which was cool, the electro house into the dubstep and back out. I think we did a good job keeping it true to that. The build/ drop is still my favorite part. Regarding soulblud's review, The intro is kinda dragged out but once 0:36 hits I think it a nice transition from a confusing intro. The drop was suppose to be rough and heavy with the filtering of the higher pitched synth cutting the bass in and out. Yes, I think i agree the wooble bass is pushed 2 far on the band compressor and when transitions happen it is obviously dropping out, but i loved the heaviness and any other way I mixed it, it was way to empty for the style of the track and didn't sound right. I really like how this track turned out compared to the WIP, it was a different approach than i'm use to so I learned some stuff, n thanks for calling me retardedly talented LMAO!

Personally, I think we did great on the song. Of course some things could be changed and you could spend weeks tweaking this song; however, I think it's the shit as is. It was a pleasure working with you B)

Reallly chill

great track. really smooth. i loved the kick as i always love in your tracks. keep it up

djInTheDark responds:

I aim to please!

Pretty cool i must say

I think this track can go far. You got a great thing going on this track with the synths and the overall feel. Great intro into the bassline. you got all the elements in this track, it just needs some more mixing. delay, reverb, eq switches, volume parameters, phasing maybe. I know this track has some of that alrdy but i think some more will really enhance this. Its all in the mix now. Perhaps some layering might fill some emptiness. All you gotta do is beef up all these sounds with there respected freqs and placement. really enjoyed this track

Enteroar responds:

thanks sir ;) I made 90% of these sounds my self, so im still working on getting a really full sound on it.

Wow.

This is some epic remix.. mix lol. Everything sounds great.. the breakbeat drumming really makes this track unique and goes with your style in most of you tracks. Great job. Sad to hear you might not be releasing anything over the summer.

Catstuffer responds:

Thanks for reviewing TIMarbury! Glad it pleased your ears! I will try to produce some more throughout teh summer on my time off, but I can't guarantee anything :( Drums took the longest of anything to do in this song! I think the breakbeat fits in tehre nicely, but its a pain to make :S I think I'll make some straight up techno-trance music this summer if I can get anything released!

Thanks again for reviewing! :D

WOAHZ

This is really nice bro. The intro is sick... i'm really liking it might need some more panning, delay or reverb on it to work with the drum sequence as it builds around like 1:15 when it comes back into play. first drop very yummy, great use of high and lows there. Second drop wasn't bad dude, i did find it funny, maybe if you want to improve it add more variation to the bass sequence even though i must say that the sequence you set up with it flows well throughout so maybe that won't help it. In terms of mixing i can't really comment on it since i'm listening right now with lower volume and low bass but it seems to be very good. Is this a WIP? if so i'm not sure what you are planning to do to this because i can easily see a little extention and boom it can be a finished piece. Not many flaws right now as i see it.

EricFreeman responds:

(just an FYI to everyone else, TIMarbury pm'd me to tell me he meant to hit 10 and not 6 for the score)

I wanted to keep it simple around 1:15 and not put any crazy effects on it because I wanted the listener to "recover" from the last drop.

And yeah, I probably should have added a little more variation to the second drop, but I made the first part fairly short so I didn't thin it would be a huge problem.

And is this a WIP? Eh, I don't know. I submitted another version of this song that was a WIP, but I liked the name, so I guess I'm going to stick with calling it WIP unless I can think of something better, haha.

Thanks for listening and reviewing (and following up with the PM, heh)!

LOL SCREW THE GUY WHO SAID HEAVIER

Agree with TheBiocide. the whole song has a feel to it that runs throughout and really makes it awesome and not just some heavy drop dubstep song. But the whole driving beat and melody is what really makes this track different and sick. percs r great i think they are key to how good this tune is. Also the theme of the sawy sounding elements. good stuff. liking your stuff and style.

Or4nges responds:

Hahaha, Glad i've got supporters in this. I'll try to get more dubstep songs like this out. Yes maybe heavier, but also maybe lighter at the same time. I'm trying to find my little niche in the genre :P

Jason ftw.

Great guy to work with sounds pretty awesome so far. It def can get better but i'm loving the vibe right now. Fast paced, insane melodies. Break at 2:18 is a great transition. great build to the lead at 3:20, ending lead could use some more power. can't wait to here more.

Or4nges responds:

Thanks man! This is going to be our final draft, so enjoy what it is :p

Stay tuned for more though.

First place means it shouldn't be touched.

Leave this the way it is. The mixing was definitely what got you the first place prize and also the unique synths imo. When i first heard it i didn't think it was really that impressive but i listened more closely and it is very well done for what you put into it. Some people might not agree with the style or synths but that is beside the point. Congrats on the win. If you tried to add more bass now it wouldn't help your mix. Just continue to make tracks and you will improve on it in the future.

KroweMusic responds:

Haha thanks man :) I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I really think it needs more bass...not a whole lot more, though.

Thanks for the review :)

you and your kicks

I must say you have some of the best kick mixing. Your kicks are very unique to all of your songs. Everytime i hear your songs and i hear the kick i say woah. a kick can do that? adds so much to your pieces. So keep making really great kick/percussion cuz that is really well done 2 and the rest should fall right into place. Downloaded this awhile ago and i'm glad it is getting more attention on top 30 :)

djInTheDark responds:

Thanks, percussion has always been my strong point, in production and away from the computer. And it's very ture, once I get my rhythm going, eveything works itself in. It also usually is the very first thing I write down when starting a new song, so I uess that might have something to do with it. Who knows?

Thanks for the review!

Why does it begin so bad but gets better?

You start to tolerate it for what it is. Pretty bizarre. This song does suck though. LOL just kidding. it is just really bad. nah i kid. i like it, even though it is garbage. oh haha whoops didn't mean that.

i just had a revelation and i think i love this song cuz it has been playing for almost 45 mins and i didn't realize it. so that disereves something. gonna listen to part one and laugh at it for awhile.. i didn't mean that though. haha am i drunk maybe?

EricFreeman responds:

lmfao friends don't let friends drink and review songs :P

But yeah, the song definitely starts out like crap. That's why I said it sucks, heh. I didn't even realize it evolves and gets better until I listened to it for several weeks periodically and then stopped hating it >.<
